Where do I file my official "stop f'ing racing stock cars at Indy" petition?

Great for McMurray, he's just such a nice guy. I don't routinely root for him, but when he wins, it always makes me smile.

But c'mon. The racing at Indy sucks, there's always some sort of debacle -- though things settled down after the competition yellow, I thought we were about to have another version of what happened with the tires a couple of years ago. NASCAR is just lucky that the field wasn't cut in half by lap 10.

Clearly the fans in Indianapolis agree with me, the stands were empty compared to 2008 -- down almost 80000 according to the Intertubes. For fucks sake, scrap Indy and one Pocono date and put Iowa & Kentucky on the schedule. If you want to celebrate the history of Indy, I get that, but rotate it in and out of the schedule.. or something.

If you think today sucked, don't worry.. next week is Pocono! Woo. *snore*

I hate picking Jimmie Johnson on my fantasy team, because the notion of being happy that he does well makes me want to vomit -- but inevitably, whenever I do pick him, he finishes 25th. What the hell is with that?

Looks like Pope John Paul II is on death's door. Though the Pope has done many things I've disagreed with, I admire him on some level. He's committed his life to a cause, mastered countless languages, traveled just about every where, met just about every one, influence global politics.. the list goes on. He's quite an impressive guy. I know people around the world will mourn his passing.

Otherwise, nothing else new.. same old, same old. Bristol is this weekend. Elliot Sadler is on the pole, and it's sure to be a good one. Catch it on FOX @ 1pm on Sunday.

And don't forget, we lose an hour of sleep tonight (in the US).. set your clocks forward one hour before going to bed Saturday night.

Obviously my first prediction isn't going to come true.. seeing as neither team will actually be in the Super Bowl. Pats over the Eagles, 28 - 14.

Kurt Busch is a pompous ass who has the personality of a flea. You can bet that NASCAR is going to keep him out of the spotlight, fearful it might damage the sport.

Just in case you were wondering, if we had been using the "old points" system, Jeff Gordon would have won the championship by 200 points. *sigh a bit more*

Just a hunch. If he doesn't win the championship, I hope he loses more by 25 points or the south might burn to the ground. :-/ For those who have forgotten, Earnhardt was fined 25pts for cursing on TV a few weeks back.

RacingInformer.com is now just a forum site. My lack of interest of NASCAR in general has caused that site to suck from its conception. *shrug* So much for my big ideas.

We'll See what happens in the upcoming weeks and days -- maybe the forum will catch on now that it's on the main page.
